Combine Colors with Confidence (Online Class) March 4 7:30-8:30 PM (Eastern Time)
Quixotic Fibers

Tuesday June 25, 7:30-8:30pm (Eastern Time)
This will be an online class conducted via Zoom on your computer, tablet or phone. You will receive an instructional email once you register.
One of our most important services as an LYS is to help customers put together color combinations that they love for those big, exciting multi-color projects.
Some of it is instinct, but there are "rules" about the color wheel that explain why some combinations work and others don’t.
In this class we will look at color theory in practice, rather than as a theory, in order to illustrate some of the basic rules of how colors interact.
The goal is to provide you with tips, tricks, and guidelines to become more confident in putting together colors for your projects. While we love to sell kits, we also want to empower you to shop your stash with confidence for those big projects.
If you have particular color combinations that you have questions about, we can discuss them at the end of the class. You can share the yarns that you want to talk about live via the zoom session, or you can send me a picture ahead of time to share with the class.
Cost: $15
Minimum # Students: 3
Instructor: Carla Billingsley
Carla Billingsley rediscovered knitting shortly after her 40th birthday when she fell in love with handpainted and novelty yarns. At first she only made rectangles and triangles: scarves, throws, and shawls. Eventually she worked up the courage to try lace and socks. After learning to turn her first heel she realized that you can learn anything if you set your mind to it, and that learning is really easy if you can take a class with a good teacher. In 2014 she and her husband Curtis moved to Texas and in June 2015 they opened Quixotic Fibers. From the beginning, her vision for the shop was that it not be just a place to buy yarn and fiber, but that it should become a community resource dedicated to the preservation and development of the fiber arts, a place where knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners can gather to learn from and to inspire each other.
