The 16th Annual North Texas Yarn Crawl is almost here, and at Quixotic Fibers, we're buzzing with excitement! From April 17 through April 26, 2026, join us and 12 other fantastic local yarn shops across North Texas for ten glorious days of fiber adventures, special events, exclusive goodies, and pure yarny joy.
Nestled in the historic Katy Depot in charming Denison, Texas, Quixotic Fibers has been your cozy haven for high-quality yarns, unique fibers, and inspiring community since we settled into our forever home. We're thrilled to once again be part of this beloved regional tradition that brings knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and fiber lovers together every spring.
What is the North Texas Yarn Crawl?
If you're new to the crawl (or just need a happy reminder), it's a self-guided "hop" from shop to shop where each participating store rolls out the welcome mat with:
- Special discounts and promotions
- Possibility to learn a new craft. Perhaps you'd like to learn to needle felt or learn to spin on a drop spindle.
- Trunk shows featuring indie dyers and designers
- Fun events like demos, door prizes, and social knitting/crochet sessions
Shops are open Monday–Friday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sundays 12–5 p.m. (with many extending hours on weekends or for special happenings—check each shop's schedule!). With 13 independent yarn stores (two brand new!) involved this year, there's something magical waiting at every stop.

Tips to Make the Most of Your 2026 Crawl
- Grab your passport! The official crawl passport (available at participating shops or online via northtexasyarncrawl.com) is your ticket to fun—get it stamped at each shop, collect prizes, and enter for grand prizes. Just turn in your passport to one of the shops when you have finished or send your passport directly to On The Lamb in Grapevine. You'll be entered into a drawing for prizes. You don't have to have all the shops stamp your passport but the more stamps you collect the better chance you have for winning a prize!
- Plan your route. Shops span the North Texas area (from Denison up north to spots closer to Dallas/Fort Worth), so map it out. Feeling adventurous? Check out the popular Yarn Crawl Bus tours on select Saturdays (April 18 and 25) for a stress-free group ride.
- Pace yourself. Ten days means you can spread out visits—no need to cram everything into one weekend!
- Follow along. Keep an eye on the official North Texas Yarn Crawl Instagram (@northtexasyarncrawl), Facebook, and website for updates, shop spotlights, event calendars, and sneak peeks at what's in store.
