Veronica Van from Dream in Color Yarn is coming to Whitesboro! Enjoy a super fun day filled with lots of dyeing of fiber.

Veronica will share her many years of knowledge with you.

Learn:

  • Color theory
  • Fiber types and dyes used on those types
  • Making dye stock from powder
  • Dyeing methods:
    • Solid
    • Painted
    • Speckles
    • Overdye
    • Resist
  • Dyeing 5 skeins of yarn using different methods

Materials Provided:

  • 5 skeins of yarn (mix of Smooshy with Cashmere and Smooshy to compare the way the color takes up on various yarns)
  • Dye stock
  • Take home instruction sheets
  • Gloves
  • Face mask

Materials to bring from home:

  • Dress to get messy
  • 6-10 quart stock pot (not to ever be reused for food)
  • Notebook and pen
  • 4 empty water bottles (to bring some dye stock)
