Beginner Two Color Brioche Part 2: Knitting Flat - August 2 - 1:00-4:00 PM

Knitting 2 color brioche flat is a bit more complicated than knitting it in the round.  

With brioche you always knit every row or round twice, doing the brioche knit stitch in one color and then the brioche purl stitch in the other color.

When knitting a flat piece, you turn the work and the knit and purl colors are reversed.

In this class you will learn:

• The steps for knitting a simple flat brioche piece.
• How to figure out where you left off when you put your piece down, which color you need to do next.
• How to fix mistakes.

You will knit a simple 5" x 5" square during the class.

Materials:

• 25-50 yards each of 2 contrasting colors of medium or bulky weight yarn.  You want to choose colors that have enough contrast that you can easily tell the difference between strands.
  
• Needles in the size that you normally use for that yarn, and, if a possible, also a pair of needles one size smaller because you often need to go down a needle size in brioche.

Level: Intermediate Beginner. Students should already be able to knit brioche in the round.

Cost: $30.

There is a 10% discount on purchases made the day of the class.

If the minimum number of students have not signed up 3 days before the class, we will unfortunately have to cancel the class. We usually require a minimum number of students only for classes where the instructor has to travel some distance. If we have to cancel a class, you will be notified 3 days in advance and will be given a full refund.

Cancellation: There is a $2 cancellation fee. At least 3 days' notice is required for cancellation without additional charges. Cancellations with 24-72 hours' notice are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are not refundable.
