Wraps Per Inch Tool

Using a classic method of establishing yarn weight, you can easily identify yarns whose labels have been misplaced and yarns that have magically appeared in your stash with no identification.

There are two ways to use this tool: visually identify yarn weight by laying it across the horizontal grooves and match the width of the groove with the width of a single strand of yarn; use the lower portion as a traditional wraps per inch tool. Insert the yarn into the notch to keep it in place and wrap carefully making sure yarn does not overlap. The number of wraps that fit within the marked 1" area translates to the numbers on the upper part of the tool.
