It is so easy to crochet a round basket that you can do it if the only crochet that you know is the single crochet stitch.

If you don’t know the single crochet stitch, you can learn that while you crochet a basket.  Seriously, it is that easy.

In this workshop you will make a small crochet basket.  

We will also show you a couple of different options for finishing your basket with handles.

This is an informal class.  The instructional part will take very little time, but we are allowing 3 hours for you to work on the basket with Carla and Denise available to help you with any problems or questions you might have.

Required Materials

  • 60 - 100 yards of bulky or superbulky yarn
  • Crochet hook good for making a firm fabric in single crochet with your chosen yarn

We have several options available at the shop that can be purchased with your $20 store credit, so if you do not have yarn that you want to use, you can just plan on choosing something the day of the workshop.

Skill Level

Suitable for all levels, including absolute beginner.


Cost: $20. This is what we call a “free with purchase” class.  You pay $20 to reserve your.spot in the class, but on the day of the class you receive a $20 store credit towards any store merchandise.

If the minimum number of students have not signed up 3 days before the class, we will unfortunately have to cancel the class. We usually require a minimum number of students only for classes where the instructor has to travel some distance. If we have to cancel a class, you will be notified 3 days in advance and will be given a full refund.

Cancellation: There is a $2 cancellation fee. At least a 3-day notice is required for cancellation without additional charges. Cancellations with 24-72 hour notice are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice are not refundable.
