Location: Quixotic Fibers Zephyrhills, 38336 5th Ave. Zephyrhills FL 33542
We are proud to be a collection point for Knitted Knockers,
“What are Knitted Knockers? Knitted Knockers are special, soft, lightweight breast prosthetics that are very comfortable for women who have undergone mastectomies, lumpectomies and radiation, and/ or are undergoing reconstruction.“
The Knitted Knockers organization coordinates the collection of donations of knitted knockers and providing them for free to the women who need them. You can find out more about the wonderful work they do at knittedknockers.org
Please join us for this Knitted and Crocheted Knocker workshop. We will be meeting around the table in the shop for knitting and crocheting breast prosthetics. The patterns for each version are free. You can find the knit version here and the crochet version here.
The purpose of this gathering is both social and to provide newer knitters and crocheters assistance with the pattern if they need it.
We carry Cascade Ultra Pima Fine cotton yarn in a variety of skin tone colors and pinks. This is one of the approved yarns for these special prosthetics. You can find more information on approved yarns here.
Bring your favorite US 4 (3.5mm) 8” DPN or 40” circular for magic loop or your favorite G (4.5mm) crochet hook!
When you have completed the knitting or crochet portion, we will send them to the organization where they will be stuffed/finished and distributed. (Note that we only accept items that have been made with one of the approved yarns.)
We plan to schedule this workshop every month. We are considering offering an evening one as well. If you would be interested in an evening option, please let us know. (Call or text us at: 813-904-4153, or send an email to carla@quixoticfibers.com)
