Stephen West is back, this time with his Quilting Triangles Shawl, a quilt-inspired modular design.

Each section of the shawl is knit individually and attached to a previous section as you knit, so there is no seaming.  The pattern includes a schematic illustration to help you plan your colors.  Knit the recommended color placement to achieve a similar graphic design or create your own color layout.

Garter stitch makes this an easy-to-knit project that includes a free video tutorial to help with the construction techniques.  An I-cord edge frames the triangular shape for a crisply framed finish.

We have created kits for Quilting Triangles using Merino Mia 2 from Prism, a beautifully twisted, stable fingering weight yarn.  The colors are from the Prism Chroma collections, where each of the colors in the collection are dyed to coordinate perfectly with the rest of the collection.

Finished Measurements: 83" wingspan length, 39" deep (measured along the center after blocking.

Gauge: 24 stitches & 48 rows = 4" in garter stitch after blocking

The kit includes enough yarn to make the stated size:

  • 5 skeins of Merino Mia 2 from Prism Yarns (100% merino superwash, 350 yards/100 grams per skein)
  • Optional pattern. The pattern can be purchase directly from the designer on ravelry, or you can choose the pattern option and we will purchase a copy for you.  Please put your ravelry name in the notes at checkout if you would like us to have the pattern added to your ravelry pattern library.

Also required but not included: US 4 circular 40" needle, or size needed to get gauge

Recommended but not included: 1 split ring marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn
