Butterfly / Papillon Shawl Kit - Rockshelter SockMeadowcroft Dyeworks
The Butterfly / Papillon Shawl pattern by Marin Melchior looks a lot more difficult than it is. Short rows are used to create an intricate pattern using one skein of a solid or semi-solid color and two skeins of another color. In these sets, the main color selection is multi-colored, producing rich colorplay between the delicate tendrils of the contrasting/framing color.
The first (unfinished) sample pictured is knit with Meadowcroft Dyeworks Rockshelter Sock in Highlands Laurel and Laurel Caverns. The complete shawl in the second picture is knit in Meadowcroft Dyeworks Silk Traveler. You can find pictures of other examples of this shawl on Ravelry.
Each kit contains:
- 3 skeins of Rockshelter Sock as pictured. Rockshelter Sock is a hand dyed 100% merino wool from Meadowcroft Dyeworks. 100g/400 yards per skein.
